repertoire, our blend of music is upbeat and covers everything from new country to classic country; from new rock to classic rock and everything in between. Every venue is unique, so we tailor the musical selections to fit your needs and keep the patrons dancing. Some like it country, some like it rock and some like it all mixed up. With "98 in the Shade", you get to decide. 98 in the Shade originated as an off-shoot of the band "Wheeler", a long time tri-state mainstay best known for their Wednesday radio show broadcast live from the Holiday Inn on KDTH in the late seventies. Since moving the project to Galveston, Texas in the early 80's, the band has become the single most requested and, consequently, best booked Classic Rock/Blues Rock Band on the East Texas Gulf Coast. They have been recognized as a Coors Lite Texas Music Band since 1996. The band added the tri-state area to its touring schedule last winter and has just recently added Oklahoma and Kansas venues for routing dates. There new CD, Complicated, was accepted for Grammy consideration in 2008 and their CD "MP2" was accepted for consideration in 2006.
