AttractionsBrodhead is 14 miles east of Monroe on
Wisconsin 11. It has a downtown rich in historic architecture.
And, a block from downtown is the southern terminus of the Sugar River State
Trail, which ends near New Glarus. A state trail pass - $10 a season, $3 a day - is
required for bicyclists who use the 23.5-mile trail. The Depot Museum near downtown Brodhead highlights
the importance of the railroad to the city's history. It costs nothing to see
the museum, which is open from Memorial Day to the last Sunday in September on
Wednesdays, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays from 1 to 4p.m. History* Brodhead - Historical Depot Museum opens for the season on May 27. It is open Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday 1-4 p.m. through the last weekend of September. |
Area ParksNew Glarus, WI* Sugar River Trail, a 23-mile trail
linking New Glarus and Brodhead, an abandoned Milwaukee Railroad line, is now a
bike, hike, cross-country ski and snowmobile trail. For information, call
