You may also enjoy a beautiful view from anywhere along the shores of this historical river town. The Mississippi Valley Welcome Center in LeClaire is certainly home to one of the most celebrated views overlooking the mighty Mississippi River. It is truly an unforgettable sight. History

Davenport, IA

* Buffalo Bill Cody Homestead, 28050 230th Ace., (Princeton). One of the homesteads of the Cody family, built of stone in 1847 by Buffalo Bill's father. Open April-October. Hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. daily.

* Buffalo Bill Museum, 200 N. River Drive (Le Claire). Memorial and tribute to William F. "Buffalo Bill" Cody, as well as a museum of steamboat and pioneer history. Wooden-hull sternwheeler, a national historic landmark is on display.

Nov. 21-29: Quad City Arts Festival of Trees, noon to 3 p.m. daily, River Center, 136 E. Third St. Experience the magic of the most loved holiday tradition in the Quad Cities, Quad City Arts Festival of Trees is a spectacular 10 day event that ushers in the season. Recognized as one of the top 100 Events in North America, Festival features many attractions unique to the Quad City area including a holiday Gift Shop; original holiday décor for purchase and display; one of the largest helium parades in the country on Nov. 21; a gingerbread village; the North Pole, an over-sized activity center for kids and so much more.
