Circulating since Wednesday is a poster detailing a guerilla marketing campaign. Dubbed Operation Paper Storm, the poster plays on references to the 2006 film “V for Vendetta” which lionizes vigilante activity in the face of an oppressive government.
The Poster calls for supporters to “hit them in their own world” and “spread the information in all places.” Though this sounds quite sinister, the idea is to print a logo/poster/etc. declaring support for Wikileaks/ Anonymous and anonymously display/ post the message in cities worldwide. (simply a guerilla marketing campaign-we see these done all the time by bands or movements) Unfortunately it is possible that vandalism will occur, but as opposed to the ddos attacks, vandalism is not the goal.
Paper Storm is set to be carried out tomorrow (Saturday, Dec. 18). It will be interesting to see whether this movement carries as much weight in the physical world as it has virtually.
