Next month, each of the tri-states offers Free Fishing Days for residents wanting to try their luck. Iowa’s dates are June 3-5, Wisconsin’s are June 4-5 and Illinois’ are June 10-13.
Normally anglers age 16 and older are required to have a fishing license. The fee-free weekends give folks a chance to try the activity or have them accompany a youngster on a fishing trip without worrying about stopping for a license in advance. So, there's one less excuse.
