I recently enjoyed an afternoon running errands in Dubuque with my son. The following event gave us an interesting topic to debate the rest of the afternoon. While waiting in line to check out at Hwy 20 business establishment, I thought I noticed the cashier put something in their pocket immediately after waiting on the customer ahead of me. Sure enough, when it was my turn to check out, the cashier took my bill and my $20 but instead of using the cash register, they reached into a lower drawer gave me back an even amount of change (no coins)and put the $20 bill into their back pocket. The change given to me was slightly more than I had expected to receive.
So I asked my son......did that business just cheat me?
