FLY Dance Company
Heritage Center at University of Dubuque
from 7:30 PM - 10:00 PM
Labeled an artistic phenomenon, FLY crosses street dance with classical choreographic principles. FLY is a 10-member all-male contemporary dance company from Houston known for high energy break dancing, hip hop, contemporary and acrobatic dance. Their technique is hip-hop—very creative, gymnastic, and highly masculine. Concerts are clean-cut, wholesome artistry designed to cross all audience boundaries—young and old, men and women, sophisticated and unsophisticated. Described as “one big love fest,” FLY dances to music as diverse as Stravinski, Debussy, Earth Wind & Fire, Michael Jackson, Nat King Cole, Three Dog Night, Isaac Hayes, Escala, Vivaldi, Wes Montgomery, Dave Barbour, Funky Lowlives, Rahzel, and James Brown.
Free 30-minute special lecture precedes performance at 6:30 p.m. in Babka Theatre.
Tickets can be purchased Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Farber Box Office in Heritage Center, by phone at 563.585.SHOW, or online at www.dbq.edu/heritagecenter. Ticket Prices: $4-$33. Location: University of Dubuque Heritage Center, 2255 Bennett Street, Dubuque.
FLY Dance is made possible, in part, by the William P. Woodward Visiting Artist-in-Residence Endowment.
